Family Pictures {Hinckley Family}

-Utah birth photographer-

Even though birth sessions are my favorite ones to photograph, I end up doing lots of family portrait sessions, especially of friends. It's really fun to capture the relationship a family has and how they interact with each other. It had been two years since this family's last family picture, so they were past due. I'm honored that they asked me to do it!

We went up to beautiful Vivian Park up in Provo Canyon. It was a little past golden hour; the sun had already passed the mountains that surrounded the little valley we hiked to. It was gorgeous, though, with tall, golden grasses and the fall colors coming out.

I've known Heidi for the last three years. She was one of my first friends in Eagle Mountain, and I'm so lucky to have found her. She is the sweetest, most caring person I know. You know that she is a genuine person and that attribute is reflected in her children. I drove with them and there was zero fighting in that car with all those boys. Sure, they got feisty, but they were respectful and polite, even with each other.

Heidi just began teaching preschool out of her home with Knowledge Explorers. She has such a drive to do what she loves to do. We also hang out on the softball fields playing on our coed team and at our neighborhood book club. You can tell Heidi and I are friends because we share a lot of the same interests!

Heidi and Trevor's little men are not only kind and thoughtful, but they get pretty wild and crazy, especially when you point a camera at them! They were troopers hiking up the little trail that led to the open field. You can tell they go on lots of hikes. It's been their family goal to go on 52 hikes this year; they're close to completing it, too!

You can tell Trevor's and Heidi's relationship is pretty special, but not only that, they don't hide their affection for each other from their children. I pretty much had to tell the boys to look embarrassed while Trevor and Heidi kissed, because they didn't do it automatically.

"The most important thing a father can do for his children is love his mother." - Theodore Hesburgh

Those boys and dad have so much love for their mother and wife. You can tell Trevor is a good dad by teaching his boys to love their mother. The boys did not hesitate to surround her with hugs, kisses and snuggles when prompted. These were some of my favorite images. I love capturing the love of children for their mother.
